Miromar Lakes Beach & Country Club is a community that delivers an always-on-vacation ambiance, with subtle references to faraway places like St. Tropez and the French Riviera. From its initial welcome off Ben Hill Griffin Parkway in Estero, a palm-lined drive with multitiered fountain and parterre garden, to its grand hurrah Spa and Beach Club, Miromar Lakes has delivered.
Offering everything under the sun and on site—hundreds of acres of navigable lakes, nearly two miles of sugary sand beaches, championship golf, a full-service European spa and fitness center, and international dining, Miromar Lakes has it all.
Miromar Lakes’ official debut was in 2002. The Spa and Beach Club complex rises from the shores of Lake Como, and the community’s high-end home prices leapfrogged from the initial $1 million ceiling. One Miromar Lakes neighborhood unabashedly advertises homes in the multi-million dollar range. Miromar Lakes received the 2003 Sand Dollar Awards, presented by the Collier Building Industry Association, for best clubhouse and community of the year.
Miromar Lakes Amenities
When it debuted in early 2003, Miromar’s Spa and Beach Club made a huge splash. Its miles of inland beaches almost make it hard to believe that it’s miles from the Gulf of Mexico. The Miromar club offers the European-style spa and fitness center and the open-air Blue Water Beach Grill. The facility is located right on Lake Como, with docks that allow residents to sail, motor or paddle up to the grill, spa or pool. The community’s 10,000-square-foot pool is reportedly one of the largest, if not the largest, in Southwest Florida. The pool sports a 210-foot infinity edge and a waveless feature that puts water on the same plane as the deck, and at the same time makes it appear to flow into the lake.
Lake Como represents just about one-third of Miromar’s 700 acres of lakes, and it isn’t the largest. (That honor goes to Lake Maggiore) Miromar’s boat club offers a marina and a growing boat rental program, and residents enjoy sailing, fishing, water-skiing or taking in a sunset cruise. There’s also a buoyed-in swimming area with private beachfront cabanas.
While many communities are now offering spa services as an afterthought, Miromar’s full-service spa and fitness center, an oasis of self-indulgence and self-perfection. The spa offers massage therapies, facials, herbal wraps, salt-glow scrubs, full-service beauty salon and private outdoor Zen garden treatment rooms. The fitness center includes an aerobics studio, yoga and Pilates room. Cardio equipment has individual TV monitors. Outside, there are tennis and volleyball courts and a children’s playground.
Miromar Lakes’ extensive list of concierge services includes everything. No need to worry about finding a babysitter, washing the dog or shopping for the soiree.
The Miromar Lakes golf clubhouse is located west of Ben Hill Griffin (as is most of the Arthur Hills Signature golf course), the clubhouse facility is modeled after an Italian villa. A tree-lined arrival courtyard will be surrounded by the main 16,000-square-foot clubhouse, an 8,200-square-foot cart stable and a bougainvillea-lined pergola with bag drop. Golf facilities include the Mike Calbot Instruction Studio and a full-service pro shop. A second 18-hole course has just been announced.
The Beach Clubhouse is next to the Spa and Beach Club features a dining room with lakefront terraces, a private function room, lounge with a wine room, theater, game room, card room, and conference room. The clubhouse’s Learning Center offers a library and computer kiosks with Internet access.
