The Lutgerts felt that Venetian Village needed a major overhaul, which was completed in 2008 by Boran Craig Barber Engel Construction. Part of the upgrade was the painting of shops in earthy tones, the addition of porcelain and stone flooring, decorative railings and improvements to the landscaping.
